TIVITA®

The technology.

TIVITA® works by means of 100 different light channels between 500 and 1,000 nm. Within 6.4 seconds, the TIVITA® camera measures superficial oxygen saturation (StO₂ [%], 1 mm into the skin), deeper perfusion (NIR, 3 to 6 mm into the skin), the Tissue Hemoglobin Index (THI) and the Tissue Water Index (TWI/oedema). This non-invasive diagnostic device measures these parameters not only in the wound bed, but also in the surrounding skin, where the underlying causes of delayed or impaired healing of complex and other wounds are often found. This German technology has recently been developed based on expertise in imaging, spectroscopy and tissue oximetry and is CE-certified as a medical device.

TIVITA® is available in both TIVITA® Tissue and TIVITA® Wound versions, each available with either a cable or battery power supply. For every wound measurement (307,200 measurement points), all of the above parameters are available for each individual measurement point, enabling fast and reliable analysis for both global and detailed diagnosis.

TIVITA® for vascular surgeons.

The TIVITA® camera is a rapid imaging device for assessing vascular or arterial occlusions in the superficial layers of the skin. If abnormalities are detected with TIVITA®, a more detailed assessment can be performed using duplex Doppler or other advanced diagnostic modalities. TIVITA® enables rapid evaluation of revascularisation procedures, supports the prevention or reduction of amputations in patients with diabetic foot wounds, and assists in assessing impaired healing of venous leg ulcers and pressure ulcers through faster, more comprehensive and more accurate analysis.

TIVITA® for plastic surgeons.

Assessing whether a skin graft or flap will be successful is challenging due to the limitations of visual assessment with the human eye. The TIVITA® camera enables assessment up to 6 mm beneath the skin surface and can therefore be used to monitor wound healing by visualising both visible and invisible parameters. It also enables the early detection of whether a skin graft or flap is successfully integrating. This helps prevent flap failure caused by oedema or perfusion problems that are not visible to the naked eye or even with conventional clinical assessment methods.
